Timeline...
With most projects the plan is to start and complete a mural in 14 to 30 days (whether permitting). The design process takes months in advance. After the design process is completed, we will put your project on our schedule then it is time to start your project. The process works like this, after the wall has been cleaned and checked for bad spots and fixed we can start getting the wall ready. The week prior to the painting week then we spend a couple of days prepping and priming the wall. Then the clock starts.
Designing Process...
With most murals the design process can take longer than painting the mural. With cities and or large committees four to six months until we get the final design approved. The smaller the committee the quicker the process will be. It's best to have a mission, focus and a location for the mural in advance before the first meeting.
Design Pricing...
Pricing for a mural can range depending on size and how complex the design is. The cost of designing a mural is separate from the cost of painting the mural. The price starts at $500.00 for murals 100'sf and under. Price fee for 200'sf and under is $1,000.00. Price design fee for 201'sf up to 500'sf murals is $1,500.00. Anything larger pricing by the project. Go Georgia Arts Mural Grant design fee is set at $1250.00 for all the winning mural projects. Half or fifty percent of the design fee will be due up front and the balance due upon approval of the design. That includes three different designs to choose from the images and concept you give us. In most case you start with eight to twelve images. You rate each image one to twelve so we know the direction for each image. After we agree on the basic design I will then give you a final more detailed design for final approval. Once we get the final approval if there are any changes there will be an added design cost of $100.00 per change.
Pricing and the Painting Process...
Our Mural Pricing...
Our pricing for murals is by square foot, complex, and access to the project. If the mural is mostly copy and less images the price range $25.00 to $35.00 per square foot. Murals with images and more complex the price rages starting at $35.00 to $45.00 per square foot. Murals with portraits there is a added cost per portrait image. Each portrait will priced basted on the project.
Adding the Mural to the Schedule...
After your complete the design process we will then add your project to the painting schedule. At that time 1/3 of the cost of painting the mural would be due. The second 1/3 payment would be due when the painting starts, the final 1/3 payment would be due upon completed of your mural. At this time there is a six to nine month booked in advance. That can change with other projects timeline conflicts and the whether. The sooner we get your mural design approved the sooner we can get your mural on the schedule.
Our Setup and Lodging Needs...
With each mural we will need access to power and water near the mural. Also we have a mobile studio/RV that will a location close to the mural to set up in a parking lot or driveway. You will need to provide a lift or scaffolding for the project. After we look at the wall on location we will be able to let you know our needs. You will need to provide lodging for one person for up to fourteen nights. Anything over that will come out our end.
Marketing, Grants, and Loving your Mural...
Promoting your Mural...
It is very important to promote your mural with all of your marketing master plan for your city. As park of taking part in the Georgia Mural Trail program we will help you promote your mural and your city. We will promote your city events on our web site and our facebook page under your cities link.
Mobile APP...
We will also have our own mobile Georgia Mural Trail APP. This APP will be offered as a tourism product to local welcome centers and our goal is to have trail fliers at all of the state welcome centers. We will also have a Georgia Mural Trail Blog that will also help promoting your mural.
Mural Stamp and Number...
Each mural will have it's own mural stamp and their own number as part of the trail. If anyone that wants to see your mural online they just have to go to our web site. Each mural will be listed by city name and number. This will give tourists the opportunity to find your city and online through our mobile APP from our wed site.
